Both my husband and Son have been saved by the awesome caregivers at Rockledge Regional. My husband from a seizure that happened suddenly while he was at work but on break. He was in the bathroom, thank God a respiratory tech heard him trying to bang the stall door. The tech reactions saved his life. He was put on life support in the ER and transferred to ICU. Every one of the staff cared for him and he survived. He also had a severe GI bleed while working in surgery. When staff found out he had been throwing up blood they immediately got him to the ER. He ended up needing 10units of blood and over half his stomach removed. Thanks again to the awesome staff, not just medical personnel, he survived and did well after that.
My son had a seizure so severe he had to be put into a medically induced coma. I was told he might not survive because many of his of his organs were shutting down. He is alive and well 15 years later thanks to the staff at this hospital. My son has severe asthma and seizures. He has been hospitalized numerous times since he was a baby. The staff at this hospital should be rewarded not by losing their jobs. The hospital shouldn't close without a new hospital in Rockledge/Cocoa. Too many lives could suffer.
